Cisco Room Kit - Codec Plus Location Change Procedure
When physically changing a Cisco room kit's location, specifically the codec itself, the following steps are required:
- Power down the codec to be moved by using the touch panel settings menu to shut down the device.
- Disconnect and move the device to its new location as needed. Ensure the device is online and it's peripherals are functional before moving to the next steps.
- Log in to Cisco Control Hub. This is the administration website for these devices.

- Select Workspaces from the left-hand navigation.
- Search for the name of the codec's original location. You may also use the location drop down to filter by a list of buildings to assist in your search.

- Select the edit icon under the Actions column, then select Edit Details.
- Ex 2:
- Modify the name field as appropriate to the new location, then select Save. The workspace name should now reflect the new name in both Control Hub, and on the device itself.
- Ex: Facilities Conference Room is being relocated to Tyler Plaza PA Studies Conference Room.'

- Return to the edit icon on the workspace under the Actions column, then select Assign Location. Change the location as appropriate, then select save.

- Note: Most CBU campus buildings and off-site locations should already be pre-loaded in the drop down. If the location you need does not exist, you may add it in the Locations section of Control Hub. Return to this menu afterwards to select it.
- To confirm that the changes have been completed, the following steps can be taken:
- Search for the new workspace in Control Hub, select the codec, then select Local Device Controls from the right-hand side of the codec menu under Support.

- Select OSD screenshot, and Touch Panel Screenshot.

- View the screenshot itself to validate the name change is reflected properly.

- Bonus points: Take a screenshot of the physical space, add it to Control Hub for future quick reference.
- From the codec menu, select Call. Wake the device if it is not awake, such that you can see the camera feed.
- Take a screenshot of the camera feed. You may need to reposition the camera using the controls to get a good view of the room.

- Return to the Control Hub workspace in question. Near the Location field, select the options icon on the placeholder photo, and select upload custom photo. Select the screenshot previously taken.
