CBU wireless: Removal of open wireless networks
November 28th, 2023
What is happening?
In the fall, CBU deployed new wireless network names to the campus. Starting in January, existing open wireless names such as “CBU” or “COLONY” that do not require a password will be removed. Please use one of networks listed below.
When will this happen?
January 2nd, 2024 at 8:00am.
What to do?
We recommend to start using these new wireless networks as soon as possible:
- CBU-SECURE – Provides the highest level of security and is recommended for most laptops and desktops. This network requires you to sign in with your CBU login credentials.
- CBU-LANCERS - This network is for devices that can't connect to CBU-SECURE. The password is: LiveY0urPurp0se Devices that would use this network include Xboxes, Playstations, TVs, etc. You can also connect your laptop, desktop or mobile device to this network if you prefer to not use CBU-SECURE.
- CBU-GUEST - Open wireless designed for vistors to our campus. When you connect, you will be prompted to accept a usage policy.
